About Carlos
West Anaheim Raised. West Anaheim Focused.

Councilman Carlos Leon is a longtime community advocate and volunteer who attended Anaheim public schools and spent his career working to improve the West Anaheim neighborhoods where he was raised. From Drum Major in the Magnolia High School Marching Band, to fierce advocate for his neighborhoods at city hall, Councilman Leon has always been West Anaheim first.
The son of Mexican immigrants, Councilman Leon grew up in West Anaheim after his parents came to California and the United States with the promise of opportunity and securing a better future for their children. His mother paused her medical career to raise her children and his father was a proud union welder and deputy building inspector.
After years of volunteer work and advocacy – and in the wake of the 2022 Anaheim corruption scandal, Councilman Leon stood up for his community, took on entrenched special interests, and won an upset election by just 60 votes. His come-from-behind win proved the power of grassroots action. West Anaheim residents were tired of being ignored by city hall and hungry for change.

Since his election in 2022, Councilman Leon has been a champion for West Anaheim neighborhoods. He’s worked to bring new ethics and transparency rules for city government, helped reduce crime and homelessness in West Anaheim, expanded housing, and worked to bring relief to struggling families across the city.
If re-elected, Councilman Leon will continue his promise to always put West Anaheim first. Ensure his neighbors are safe, work to make housing more affordable, and bring new jobs and economic opportunities to the community.
“I’m Carlos Leon. I’m your neighbor first, councilman second. I’m from here, I was raised here, and I’ll always make sure nobody’s working harder to keep our streets safe, our parks clean, and our small businesses thriving in West Anaheim. I work for you and my door is always open.”
